From the painting of Mary Blanchard that she retrieved from Wheaton’s archives, to the walls of pictures and awards that she has collected over the years, Melvin, Wheaton’s executive assistant to the president, has a passion for Wheaton that is evident as she speaks about her years of service and experience with sincere humility.

Globus event remembers 21st anniversary of Rwandan genocide
Heads bowed in the Meyer Science Center lecture hall in a moment of silence Tuesday night, silently lifting up prayers and remembering those slaughtered in the Rwandan Genocide 21 years ago, where the Hutu tribe killed 800,000 to 1,000,000 Tutsis within 100 days. Sophomore Richard Ndekezi, a native Rwandan, initiated the night and the moment of silence. Globus hosted the event, titled “Redeeming Rwanda.”
Wheaton talks sexuality
The second to last Living Room series event was hosted last Friday and focused on the topic of sexual desire and stewardship. The Living Room Series came to being as a need was seen on Wheaton’s campus to open up discussions on sexuality, sexual orientation and gender identity where the Wheaton community could come to learn, and talk about various experiences regarding these topics.
