Welcome back, Wheaton College! As this year’s Co-Editors-in-Chief, we’re excited to introduce you to a new year of the Wheaton Record and tell you about our vision for the paper.

After a year of disruptions to the campus newspaper’s operations, the new 2021 Editorial Board is confronted with the task of uniting the Record of the past with the realities of the present and the hope of a post-pandemic future.

The coronavirus pandemic allowed the Record to make a historic shift to an online publication for the 2020-2021 academic year. As a result of the success and creative opportunities provided by this format, we have chosen to continue publishing the Record online while making significant changes to the publication process and our writers’ accountability.

Our goal, as always, is to produce high quality journalism, with a central focus on empathetic truth told from a Christian perspective. To achieve this, we are emphasizing a strong schedule among our staff that places a premium on accountability and time management.

We also aim to strengthen our internal camaraderie and our relationship with the rest of the campus community by utilizing our new office space in Lower Beamer, and taking advantage of in-person meetings at full capacity.

We hope you’ll join us in our mission by subscribing to our website and following us @wheatonrecord on Instagram.
