It Was Painted Sweet

A student reflects on the impacts of the Lausanne conference.

Lausanne. Once in a lifetime. Almost all nations represented. The largest global evangelical conference in the world. I thought that this conference would change my life, and perhaps it did. But it isn’t the thousands of chairs, the lights or the huge stage that I remember the most. 
It’s the small moments. 
This whole trip was what I like to call “painted sweet.” Every interaction I had, every new name I learned, every new food I ate, was all sweet to me. I felt an inexplicable gratef...
