All4Aid in Cyprus is a nonprofit asylum seeker outreach center which I interned at in the touristy Mediterranean beach town of Larnaca, Cyprus. It is the only organization with any significant physical presence in Larnaca, a city with one of the largest asylum-seeking populations in an island country. The contrast between an international vacation destination and the families fleeing violence is just the beginning of the social inequalities that have characterized my six-month internship.
