Introducing the ‘23-24 Wheaton Record

A Welcome From the Editors In Chief

Dear reader,

Thank you for reading the Wheaton Record this year! Whether you’re a freshman new to campus  or an alumnus from the pre-dancing days, we’re honored that you would take an interest in our reporting. Both of us deeply value Wheaton College, for many reasons you likely share — it’s taught us, challenged us, shaped us and stretched us. Our hope is that the Record, in its 123rd year, would be a faithful account of the stories that each of us experience around campus, a collage of the breaking news, laughs, events, trends and everything else that creates Wheaton College.

Whatever connection you have to the college, you know a lot happens here. From ground-breaking institutional changes to intimate personal anecdotes, Wheaton has no shortage of stories to be told. We’ll do our best to cover it all. Our award-winning student journalists will keep you informed on all things news, sports, profiles, and arts, while our student contributors will provide insightful weekly columns on local sightseeing, Hollywood and Christian doctrine, respectively. And we want to hear your thoughts, too. For more information on how to submit opinion pieces, go to www.wheatonrecord.com/contribute

We’re excited to be launching our new website, fully redesigned to best serve you, the reader, with a smoother look and hassle-free login process. And, in the coming weeks, be on the lookout for our brand new weekly podcast hosted by our own editors and available on Spotify.

The Old Testament chronicles dozens of people who built altars to mark the places where they encountered God. Our hope is for the Record to be the same — a place where people can see what the Lord has done at Wheaton College year after year. What we lack in wood and fire, we make up for in pen, paper, curiosity and diligence. We look forward to bringing you the stories of Wheaton College in the 2023-24 academic year.
